Women’s Day Tree Plantation

Women's Day Tree Plantation

Every year on International Women's Day, Sahyadri Devrai honours the women who quietly hold up the world — by planting trees in their name across the Sahyadris. The connection between women and trees is older than memory: both nurture life, both shelter the next generation, and both are too often taken for granted. This day is our way of saying thank you to both.

The Women's Day Tree Plantation is more than a ceremony — it is a tribute rooted in soil. Volunteers, villagers, and supporters come together at our Devrai sites across Maharashtra to plant indigenous saplings dedicated to mothers, daughters, sisters, teachers, and every woman whose strength has shaped a life. It is our way of celebrating womanhood the way nature does — with growth, grace, and quiet endurance.

01 — A Tree for Every Woman Who Inspires

Plant a sapling in honour of a mother, daughter, mentor, or friend whose strength has shaped your life. Each tree becomes a living tribute — one that grows quietly, just as her presence does.

02 — Women-Led Plantation Drives

The day belongs to women — leading the drive, planting the saplings, and shaping the Devrai. Across our sites, women from villages, schools, and cities come forward as the day's true torchbearers.

03 — Awareness and Empowerment

Through stories, talks, and shared experience, we connect environmental care with women's empowerment. Both grow from the same soil — care, courage, and the quiet refusal to give up.

04 — A Sisterhood of the Forest

The plantation creates a community that lasts long after the day ends. Women who plant together watch the same forest grow together — a sisterhood rooted in the earth itself.
