Sahyadri Devrai Sanjay Gandhi National Park, Mumbai
A Forest Within the City That Never Sleeps
Inside the green lungs of Mumbai, where leopards still walk and ancient trees still stand, Sahyadri Devrai is adding to one of India's most extraordinary urban forests. Indigenous saplings are being planted within the boundaries of Sanjay Gandhi National Park — strengthening a wilderness that breathes for over twenty million people. Here, every tree is not just a tree, but a quiet shield for a city that desperately needs it.

The Land and Its Story
Sanjay Gandhi National Park is a rare wonder — a 100+ square kilometre forest sitting inside one of the world's most densely populated cities. It shelters leopards, deer, butterflies, and over a thousand species of plants, while purifying the air for millions of Mumbaikars every single day.
Yet the pressures of urban expansion, pollution, and ecological strain make even this protected jungle vulnerable. Sahyadri Devrai chose to plant here because the city needs every leaf it can get. Adding a Devrai inside SGNP means strengthening an existing forest — and reminding Mumbai that nature is not somewhere far away, but right here, alongside its people.
